Payment information for public holidays

If you’re expecting money to come in or go out on a public holiday, please be aware that payment timings may be affected.

Summer holiday information

Over the summer break, our contact centre and branch hours may differ to usual hours to enable our team to take a break with friends and whānau. Payment times may also vary over the holiday period.

ATM's, our mobile app, internet banking and phone banking are all available 24/7. Remember - you can block and unblock your credit card directly from within the app if your card has been lost or stolen.

Payments

Payments are processed on all public holidays. If someone is transferring money to you on a public holiday, you’ll receive the funds the same day. Some organisations may have different payment dates on public holidays, you'll need to contact the organisation to find out more.

If you have automatic payments normally set to go out on the day of a public holiday, remember to leave enough funds in your account to cover payments.

MSD Payments

If you receive regular MSD payments and your payment is due on a public holiday it may be paid earlier by MSD. This payment will be processed into your account by 11 pm on the day the payment is received by Kiwibank. If you'd like to find out more visit workandincome.govt.nz.
