If you're new to Kiwibank, fill in our online form which takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Once you’ve completed the online form you'll need to bring some ID and proof of address into your nearest Kiwibank. Otherwise if you have a RealMe verified identity you can do this online.
Once you've been verified you'll have full access to your new account and will be able to make withdrawals and deposits, you'll also be able to order a Visa Debit or EFTPOS card.

Once we've set up your accounts, we can give you an EFTPOS card, and you can open other accounts. If you are 15 or over we can also set you up with a Visa Debit Card.
As all international arrivals to New Zealand are currently paused due to COVID-19, we have paused all international applications to join Kiwibank. We will recommence applications once the borders are open.
We can help set you up with an account that you'll be able to use once you arrive in New Zealand. You'll need to hold an appropriate working or study visa for New Zealand. Australian permanent residents and citizens don't require a working visa in New Zealand.
