Eligibility
- To enter the Kiwibank prize draw, you must:
- Be a natural person living in New Zealand, aged 18 or over (at the time of entry); and
- Be either:
- A new Kiwibank customer who opened a Free Up account from December 2025 onwards, or
- An existing Kiwibank customer who did not have regular income direct credited to Kiwibank in the three calendar months before the month of entry.
- Set up and receive regular income payments totalling at least $500 (after tax and deductions) into your Kiwibank Free Up account by the end of the calendar month after you enter.
- The $500 can be from one or more payments, including salary, wages, contractor payments, or other legal income.
- The credited amount must be a regular payment (not a transfer between your own accounts) into an individual or joint Kiwibank Free Up account where you are a named account owner.
2. Kiwibank employees and contractors are not eligible.
3. Only one entry per customer is allowed for the entire prize draw period. Additional entries will not be accepted.
Prizes
4. There is one prize of $5,000 per calendar month during the prize draw period. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged.
Prize draw entry
5. To enter a monthly draw during the prize draw period, you must:
- Complete the entry form; and
- Meet the eligibility requirements stated above.
6. All valid entries received from the first to the last day of each calendar month will go into that month’s draw.
Prize draw
7. The prize draw runs from 12:00am NZST on Monday 2 February 2026. Kiwibank will determine in its sole discretion when to withdraw the promotion, after which time entries will no longer be accepted.
8. Winners for a monthly draw will be drawn on the first business day after one full month has passed since entries closed for that draw. For example, entries from February 2026 will be drawn on 1 April 2026.
9. Winners will be notified within five business days of the draw taking place by phone or email (using the contact details linked to your Kiwibank Free Up account).
10. The $5,000 prize will be deposited into a Kiwibank Free Up account held solely in your name within 10 business days of notifying the winner. If you do not have a solely held account, it may be deposited into a joint account.
11. Kiwibank will check your account transactions to confirm you meet the income credit requirements. We may also request payslips or other documents, which must be provided within five business days if asked.
12. If a winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible or does not provide required evidence in time, Kiwibank may redraw the prize.
General
13. By submitting an entry form, you agree to be bound by these terms.
14. All decisions by Kiwibank are final.
15. Kiwibank may change or withdraw the prize draw or these terms at any time without notice.
16. You are responsible for checking any salary credit requirements for any borrowing you have with other financial institutions. Kiwibank is not liable for any loss from a breach of such requirements.
17. If you win, you are responsible for any tax obligations. Kiwibank cannot provide tax advice.
18. Personal information will be used only to run this prize draw and will be handled according to Kiwibank’s Privacy Policy.
19. To the extent allowed by law, Kiwibank and others involved in this prize draw are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury related to participation or the prize.
20. These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.
