How it works
-
Accounts
You can link a Visa Debit Card to your one-to-sign Business Edge or Not-for-profit Performer account. When you order a card, you’ll be asked to select a primary account – this will be linked to the ‘CHQ’ option on EFTPOS terminals. You can also opt to link a secondary account – this will be the ‘SAV’ option.
-
Multiple signatories
If your business requires more than one signatory to make transactions you won’t be able to get Visa Debit Card access to your account.
-
Set or change a PIN on your card
You can set or change the PIN on your Visa Debit Card within the mobile app or internet banking.
-
Using an EFTPOS terminal or ATM
When making a purchase or making an ATM withdrawal in New Zealand, choose ‘CHQ’ to access your primary account and ‘SAV’ to access your secondary account. When using your card overseas, select ‘Credit’ and enter your PIN - funds will come from your primary account. You won’t be able to access your secondary account overseas. Overseas ATM and international transaction fees will apply.
-
Contactless payments
You can make contactless payments to tap for purchases under $200, and tap and PIN for purchases over $200. If you make a contactless payment, funds will come out of your primary account.
-
Access
To get a Visa Debit Card for your business you have a Business Edge or Not-for-profit Performer account to link your card to.
-
Security
Visa’s Zero Liability policy means you won’t be held responsible for fraudulent charges or unauthorised purchases.
-
Foreign currency transactions
When you use your card for foreign currency transactions, your transactions will be charged to your account in New Zealand dollars at a rate of exchange determined by Visa on the date it sends the transaction details to us. An international transaction fee also applies.
