Will we see a rate cut from the Reserve Bank this year?

We’ve updated our forecasts. The outlook for 2024 is soft but next year will be better. Inflation is expected to fall below 3% by year-end. And if the economy evolves as we expect, then we see the RBNZ delivering the first rate cut in November. It's only when monetary policy is relaxed that the economy will regain momentum. I sat down with Bernard Hickey on the latest episode of ‘When the Facts Change’ to talk all about it.
