Use phone banking

Learn how to use phone banking to do things such as make payments, check account balances and transfer money between accounts. Automated phone banking is free to use and doesn't require data or minutes when calling from within New Zealand.

    Set up phone banking

    If you already have phone banking set up, follow the below step-by-step instructions.

    If you don't have it set up, call us or visit one of our branches. Our team will ask you a few questions and set you up.

    Access phone banking

    1. Call 0800 113 355 and select option 1.
    2. Enter your access number then #.
    3. Enter your four digit PIN number then #.
    4. Follow the voice prompts.

    Select your self service options

    Once you've followed the voice prompts, you have seven self service options to choose from. Enter in the number that matches what you'd like to do.

    Option 1: Check account balance

    Select one account or listen to all your account balances, including credit cards.

    Option 2: Transfer money between your accounts

    To transfer funds via phone banking, make sure the specific accounts are set up within phone banking. For help adding accounts to phone banking, contact us and our team will be able to help.

    There’s some limitations with what you can do in regards to credit cards. You can check credit card balances and see your last five transactions, but cash advances to your account aren’t available.

    Option 3: Check your recent transactions

    You can check your recent transactions, including credit cards.

    Option 4: Make bill payments to an existing payee

    If you'd like more of your accounts and saved payees available to you in phone banking, just contact us to speak to our team. To pay someone not already saved within your internet banking or mobile app saved payees, we’ll need to verify your identity.'

    Option 5: Skip or change an automatic payment

    For automatic payments select the appropriate number to:

    1. Skip all automatic payments due within the next seven days.
    2. Change an automatic payment.
    3. List all automatic payments.

    Please note a fee may apply when amending an automatic payment using phone banking.

    Option 6: Check your credit card payment details

    For credit card balances and transactions select the appropriate number to find out your:

    1. Credit card balances.
    2. Credit card transactions.
    3. Minimum payment amount and due date.

    Option 7: Other services such as order a statement

    Select the appropriate number to:

    1. Find out your account number – for accounts added to phone banking.
    2. Change phone banking PIN number.
    3. Order a statement – period between last statement and day of order.
    4. Change the account you hear the balance of.
