Your cover is provided by Tower Insurance Limited, and includes:
Your vehicle (including trailers or caravans if specifically insured) will be insured for its market value.
If you haven’t had any claims with us or with your previous insurer for the last year, you'll get a no claims bonus. We won’t penalise your no claims bonus when you renew your policy or impose your excess in a claim, if you’re involved in an accident while insured and it’s proved that someone else was more than 50% at fault.
If your vehicle suffers loss or damage for which a claim is accepted (other than windscreen, window glass or sunroof) you can nominate a repairer of your choice to do the repairs.
If your vehicle becomes a total loss within a year of its original registration (from new) and your claim is accepted, we’ll replace it with a new vehicle of the same make and model, subject to local availability.
If your vehicle is stolen or a total loss and we accept the claim, we’ll cover the cost of hiring a similar vehicle for up to seven days or $500, whichever is less. This cover doesn’t apply if you select the rental vehicle optional special benefit.
You get a lifetime guarantee on any repairs to your vehicle carried out by our recommended panel beaters.
If your vehicle’s windscreen, window glass or sunroof is accidentally broken, we’ll pay for their repair or replacement. We won’t deduct any excess and you won’t lose your no claims bonus.
If you replace your vehicle or purchase an additional vehicle, we’ll automatically cover your replacement or additional vehicle for 30 days from the date of replacement or purchase, subject to the terms and conditions of your policy.

Your vehicle (other than trailers or caravans) can be insured for an agreed value. This means, after the loss of your vehicle and acceptance of your claim, you’ll know how much you’ll receive, provided your vehicle was first registered after 1984 and is in a sound and well maintained condition.
If your vehicle is involved in an accident, stolen or becomes a total loss we’ll pay for you to hire and insure a similar vehicle up to $2,500, while you’re without your vehicle.
Get help anywhere in New Zealand if your car breaks down or runs out of petrol. You get three free call outs a year and the cover is based on the car, not the driver – so whoever is driving can get help when they need it.

We’ll pay up to $3,000 for repairs to your vehicle if it’s damaged in an accident, it’s proven the other party was uninsured and more than 50% at fault, and you provide us with their identity and relevant details.
If you replace your vehicle, we'll automatically cover the replacement vehicle for 30 days.

The excess is the amount that you pay for each claim. The standard excess for Vehicle Insurance is $300, but you can choose an amount that suits you. A higher excess will save you money by reducing your premium, while a lower excess will increase the premium.
Note that in some circumstances, e.g. drivers under 25 years, an additional excess will automatically be applied.
Note: The discounts don’t apply to the levies (e.g. Fire Service) that are included in all premiums, nor to GST, administration fees, and some Optional Special Benefits. Discount varies depending on the number/type of policies taken out.
