Q. What short term financial help is available while I'm not getting paid?"

A. If you're an existing Kiwibank customer and need short term financial relief while you're waiting for your regular income to resume or while you wait for financial assistance benefits, you may be eligible for an emergency overdraft of up to $2,000. At the end of the agreed term, you'll be required to repay the overdraft in full. You can, however, repay the overdraft in full or part before then. To be eligible, you must've had your regular wages or salary paid into a Kiwibank account before 1 March 2020. Other eligibility criteria apply.

If you’d like to apply, please fill out our personal support form and provide your details, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Q. Does the Reserve Bank lowering interest rates affect my overdraft? Will you be making any changes to fees or interest rates in general?"

A. We're always looking at our rates to ensure they’re competitive and where applicable, we pass on interest rate cuts to customers. With that said, we understand that many of our customers are facing challenges at the moment.
