Online application
If your New Zealand registered company uses Xero, then applying online will only take you a few minutes.

Access to your data
During the application process, you’ll be required to log in to your Xero account. This gives us your summarised financial information to assess your application.

Depending on what borrowing you decide on, we'll discuss the options and rates with you.

Your Xero information
Your Xero information will only be used for the purpose of the application. We’ll store your data in accordance with our privacy policy. We’ll have access to your Xero account until you manually revoke access in your Xero settings.

Once approved
We'll chat to you about what product or product mix will best suit your business needs. This could be a business loan, business overdraft or business credit card. We'll then give you an idea of when you'll be able to access your borrowing.
Eligibility
You can be new to Kiwibank or an existing Kiwibank customer. You'll also need to:
- be a director of a New Zealand registered limited company (i.e. not a sole trader),
- have a Xero account and have up to date financial history for us to assess your application
- be a Xero Standard or Advisor user role to apply.

Frequently asked questions
After you apply, our system performs detailed calculations using your Xero data and makes a lending decision. You'll receive an email with the decision within five minutes of applying. If your application is successful, we'll be in touch to discuss the next steps.

During the application process you'll be required to log in to your Xero account, where you'll authorise and allow us to see your company's financial data. We'll assess profit and loss information and invoice data so make sure the data is accurate and up-to-date. We'll also assess your credit history to make our decision about your application.
After you’ve completed the application, you can manually revoke our access to your Xero data within your Xero settings. We’ll store your data in accordance with our privacy policy.
