If you're eligible for the Business Low Rate Visa cashback offer, these terms and conditions apply to you.

These terms should be read in conjunction with the Kiwibank Business Credit Card Terms and Conditions. If there's any inconsistencies between the two, the terms on this page apply.

Eligibility

The cashback offer is available to existing Kiwibank customers who've held a Kiwibank issued Airpoints credit card at 27 May 2025, and either apply for a new Business Low Rate Visa or already hold one in a related entity. New or existing Business Low Rate Visa cardholders who did not hold an Airpoints credit card on 27 May 2025 are not eligible for the cashback offer.

The eligibility period for applying for a Business Low Rate Visa to qualify for the cashback offer is from 27 May 2025 to 28 February 2026. Eligible customers must apply and be approved for a new Kiwibank Business Low Rate Visa within this period to participate in the cashback offer.

Kiwibank reserves the right to determine eligibility and offer participation at its sole discretion in specific customer instances. Only accounts that aren't overdue, in default, or subject to any restrictions imposed by us, are eligible to earn cashback during the promotional period. See the 'Exclusions' section further down the page to learn when cashback won't be earned.

Cardholders must also comply with our terms and conditions to get the cashback offer.

Earning cashback

Cardholders will earn cashback at a rate of $1 for every $115 spent on eligible purchases.

Cashback accrual will start from 1 August 2025 for eligible cardholders. The promotional period ends on 30 September 2026.

Cashback rewards are calculated on a net spend basis. Net spend is defined as the total cleared purchases minus returns within the promotional period. Cashback will only be applied to transactions that are settled and cleared, and any refunds or returns processed within the same promotion window will reduce the net spend amount accordingly.

Cashback rewards on foreign currency transactions will be assessed on the New Zealand dollar amount following conversion, as explained in the Business Credit Card Terms and Conditions.

We'll monitor and review the cashback offer for misuse (e.g. repeated refunding behaviour). Misuse may lead to the card being excluded from the promotion, at our sole discretion.

Exclusions

Cashback won't be earned on:

  • Fees or interest
  • Balance transfers
  • Gambling chips
  • Gambling transactions (including online gambling)
  • Money orders
  • Travellers’ cheques or foreign currencies in cash
  • Cash advances or cash withdrawals made from an ATM
  • Any transaction that’s reversed, refunded or charged back.

When cashback won't be awarded

Cashback won't be awarded under the following circumstances:

  • The Business Low Rate Visa account is closed, has debt that's overdue, or the card is used in breach of the Kiwibank Business Credit Card Terms and Conditions.
  • The account is flagged for fraudulent, abusive, illegal, or prohibited activity.
  • The cashback hasn't yet been credited and the account is no longer eligible (e.g. due to closure or breach); or
  • We identify errors or missing details in a cashback calculation and corrects an earned amount to rectify.

Crediting cashback

The cashback rewards will be credited directly to your Business Low Rate Visa card after each cashback award period.

The cashback award periods are:

  • 1 August 2025 – 31 October 2025
  • 1 November 2025 – 31 January 2026
  • 1 February 2026 – 30 April 2026
  • 1 May 2026 – 31 July 2026
  • 1 August 2026 – 30 September 2026

The credited cashback will appear as a "CASHBACK PROMO" line item on your statement.

Cashback cap

Once the cashback rewards cap of $2,000 per card is reached, no further cashback will be earned on that card.

We reserve the right to review and adjust the cashback cap at any time and will provide notice to cardholders before doing so.

Disputes

Disputes regarding cashback must be submitted within 60 days of the statement date on which the cashback was credited or should've been credited.

Cardholders may be required to provide supporting documentation, including statements, receipts, and other relevant evidence to progress a dispute.

We'll aim to lodge your claim with Visa within 14 days of hearing from you. However, each dispute varies in duration, and this may take longer in peak periods. In limited circumstances, an investigation fee may apply as set out in the Business Credit Card Terms and Conditions. Our decision on cashback disputes will be final and binding, except as required by applicable consumer protection laws.

Changes to the cashback offer

We reserve the right to amend, suspend, or terminate the cashback offer at any time with 28 days’ notice.

Notice may be provided via email, statement messages, or other appropriate communication channels.

Changes may include adjustments to the cashback rate, exclusions, or promotional period.
