Why international direct credit?

Use this if:

  • you’re paying someone in the UK or Australia

  • you want them to receive the full amount you send

  • you don’t need to add reference or invoice details to your payment.

How it works

Only available if you’re sending:

  • GBP to a UK bank account, or
  • AUD to an Australian bank account.

You can make an international direct credit payment in internet banking for business under “pay & transfer" then "international payments”. You can only pay a bank account — not a credit card.

  • The full amount you send will arrive in the account you send it to.
  • It can take 3-5 business days for the payment to arrive, depending on the country you’re sending the money to.

Extra info you might need

When you send money overseas by international direct credit, you’ll need specific details of the person or organisation you’re sending the money to — we'll prompt you for this in internet banking.

  • Bank and branch number (often referred to in Australia as BSB number)
  • Account number

  • Bank and branch number (often referred to in the UK as sort code)
