Internet banking browser requirements

Which browsers do we support?

Kiwibank Internet Banking is optimised to run on Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) and Firefox 3+.

How do I know which browser version I'm using?

To check which browser you're using, go to the Help link in the tool bar and select About Internet Explorer or About Mozilla Firefox.

What if I don't use the supported browsers?

Although some browsers are not supported, internet banking will still work on them, but if they're not supported, they're not secure.

If you're having technical issues and are not on IE 7 or Firefox 3+, we recommend you download one of these browsers. This can be done by following the links below:

Internet Explorer 7

Please note: Microsoft is no longer supporting some of the older operating systems, including Windows 98 and Windows Me (both have been unsupported since 11 July 2006). Support means that you'll be kept up to date with the latest security updates, so any system that's not supported is not secure.

If you're using a Microsoft operating system older than Windows 2000, it's possible that you won't be able to download our supported browsers.

Although we only support Firefox 3+ and Internet Explorer 7, many other unsupported browsers will still work (IE8, Firefox 2, IE6, Chrome and Safari), although they are not fully tested and certain parts of the site may not work perfectly.

Why don't we support other browsers?

Once a browser meets or exceeds a 5% threshold we'll support it.
