TXT or email alerts

Get an email or text from Kiwibank when key things happen on your accounts, so you’re always on top of your finances.

Alert types:

  • Under balance alert – this alert lets you know when your account balance falls under your chosen limit.
  • Deposit alert – you're alerted when you receive deposits into your account over a certain amount in a day.
  • Automatic payment failure alert – you'll get this alert when a regular automatic payment couldn't be paid – usually because of insufficient funds – so you can take action and avoid dishonour fees. This alert also works for scheduled one-off payments.
  • Automatic payment dishonour alert - this alert lets you know when a regular automatic payment or a one-off payment has dishonoured, after failing for the second consecutive time.
  • Direct debit dishonour alert - this alert tells you when a company has tried to take a direct debit from your account, but hasn't been able to because there wasn't enough money in your account.

Alerts are usually sent around 9am the day after the alert's triggered. Email alerts are free. The first TXT type that you sign up for will be free for the first month, then a fee will apply.
