In the last couple of years, thousands of New Zealanders have discovered they can get more for their savings dollar by investing in PIEs. Tracey Berry, Kiwibank’s General Manager of Wealth, explains why.
As you might have gathered from my last blog, I'm very enthusiastic about PIEs – simply because of the tax treatment which gives many investors a better return for their dollar. But is everyone getting all they could from their investments? The answer is clearly not.
For people in higher tax brackets, one investment option stands out – PIE. But research shows many are missing out because they don't realise how easy it is to invest in them.
Kiwibank customers have an eye for a good deal, and they've wasted no time investing more than $1 billion in Kiwibank PIE Funds since the tax-based investment incentive was introduced two years ago.
Tracey is Kiwibank’s General Manager of Wealth. She started at Kiwibank following a very successful career with Westpac, BNZ and the Public Trust.
Her previous roles have included being District Public Trustee for Public Trust, Private Banking Manager for BNZ, Head of Wealth Management New Zealand and Head of Investment Solutions for Westpac.
Amongst numerous awards and successes, Tracey became the Central Region NZIM/Eagle Technology Young Executive of the Year winner in 2009.
Tracey has a Post Graduate Diploma in Personal Financial Planning (PGradPFP) from Waikato University, is an Associate Financial Planner, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a member of Mensa.
