The Kiwibank PIE Online Call Fund and the Kiwibank PIE Term Deposit Fund only invests in deposits guaranteed under the New Zealand deposit guarantee scheme. That scheme covers those deposits to the extent that retail investors have invested in the Kiwibank PIE Online Call Fund and the Kiwibank PIE Term Deposit Fund. Amounts received under the New Zealand deposit guarantee scheme may only be passed on to retail investors. More information about the New Zealand deposit guarantee scheme, including what constitutes a retail investor, is available from the Treasury website. Please note that currently the deposit guarantee scheme is expected to expire on 12 October 2010.
