Account fees

The following are the fees you pay to have a Kiwibank credit card account (the fees you pay to have a Business MasterCard® are set out in business banking credit card fees section):

Kiwibank Low Rate MasterCard

$25 every six months (waived for the first year for Tertiary or Graduate Pack customers taking up a Kiwibank credit card for the first time).
Kiwibank MasterCard Gold

$40 every six months (waived if you’ve an outstanding home loan balance or deposits of $150,000 or more on the fee assessment date).
Kiwibank MasterCard Zero

Free.

The inactivity fee may apply.
Go Fly MasterCard Standard

$28 every six months.
Go Fly MasterCard Gold

$49 every six months.
Go Fly MasterCard Platinum

$65 every six months.

Service fees

The following are the fees and costs you pay for services on Kiwibank credit cards (the fees and costs you pay for services on a Business MasterCard are set out in business banking credit card fees section):

Card replacement fee

When you ask us for a replacement credit card.

$10 per card.
Cash advance fee

When you withdraw or transfer money from your available credit card balance.

Kiwibank ATMs - $2 per transaction.

Other New Zealand ATMs - $2.50 per transaction.

Kiwibank over the counter - $2.50 per transaction.

Other New Zealand banks and financial institutions over the counter - $3 per transaction.

Overseas ATMs - $6 per transaction.

Overseas banks and financial institutions over the counter - $6 per transaction.

Internet banking transfers - $2 per transaction.

Other banks may charge an additional fee.
Emergency card and/or cash if overseas fee

When you need a replacement or new card or cash while overseas.

$52 per request.

Courier costs will apply.
Inactivity fee

When you don't use your Kiwibank MasterCard Zero to purchase goods or services at least once in each consecutive period of three months after the date we open your credit card account.

$15 per three month period.
Internet banking access

Free.
Investigation fee

When you ask us to investigate something about your credit card.

$60 per hour. Minimum fee $15.
Joint/Additional cardholder fee

What you'll pay to have more than one card linked to your credit card account.

Kiwibank Low Rate MasterCard – $5 per additional card every six months.

Kiwibank MasterCard Gold – $10 per additional card every six months. We’ll waive this fee if you’ve an outstanding home loan balance or deposits of $150,000 or more on the fee assessment date.

Kiwibank MasterCard Zero – Free.

Go Fly MasterCard Standard – $7 per additional card every six months.

Go Fly MasterCard Gold – $15 per additional card every six months.

Go Fly MasterCard Platinum – $15 per additional card every six months.
Late payment fee

When your minimum payment isn't received by us on or before the payment date shown in your monthly statement.

When your monthly statement shows an amount due immediately, your payments will be applied to this amount before being applied to your minimum payment. This means that you must pay both amounts to avoid being charged this fee.

$15 per late payment.
Over limit fee

When you exceed your maximum credit limit.

$20 each month in which your balance has exceeded your maximum credit limit.

You may ask us not to honour electronic transactions that take you over your maximum credit limit where the merchant can check the available balance in real time.
Overseas currency conversion commission

When you use your credit card for a foreign currency transaction.

2.5% of the New Zealand dollar amount once converted.
Phone banking fee (applies across all your banking)

When you use phone banking.

First five calls per month free, then:

  • $2 per call to a customer service representative; and
  • $0.50 per call to the automated phone banking system.
Statement copy fee

When you ask us for a copy of a monthly statement.

$5 per statement.
Urgent new card delivery fee

When you need your replacement or new card delivered quickly.

$25 per card for delivery within Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch or Dunedin.

Courier costs will apply for delivery anywhere else in New Zealand.

The emergency card and/or cash if overseas fee will apply for delivery overseas.
Voucher copy fee

When you ask for a copy of a sales voucher.

$15 per voucher.
