Term deposits

With Kiwibank Term Deposits you earn a fixed rate of interest for a fixed term. There are no fees unless you break the term, and rates tend to be higher than savings accounts.

If your marginal tax rate is 30% or 33%, check out the PIE Term Deposit Fund.

Term Deposit options

  • Choose your term from 30 days to 5 years - the term you select will affect the interest rate you receive
  • We accept term deposits from $1,000 to $1 million - the amount you deposit also affects the interest rate you receive
  • When you invest for 1 year or longer you can choose to have your interest paid monthly or quarterly into any New Zealand bank account.
  • When your term ends, we’ll reinvest or transfer your money depending on your instructions. You can change your maturity instructions as many times as you like during the investment term.
