  • You might also be interested in a Loaded for Travel card – it works like a Visa so you don’t have to carry large amounts of cash, and the exchange rate is locked in when you load money onto it.

Please note that international direct credits are currently only available to accounts in the UK in UK£, Australia in AU$, and the United States in US$. Other countries will be available in the future.

Get a Loaded for Travel card:

  • online – if you’re a Kiwibank customer, you can order a card, select a PIN and load it through internet banking.
  • on the spot at your local Kiwibank – if you’re not a Kiwibank customer, you’ll need to take some photo ID with you.

Convert your traveller’s cheques back to NZ$ at 0% commission at your local Kiwibank.
