Make payments

We’re making changes to the way payments are processed. These changes mean you – and anyone you pay – may receive money earlier on the day the payment is made. This won’t affect your outgoing automatic payments and direct debits – these will still be processed overnight. Read more about payment times

Automatic payments

Use automatic payments to regularly pay fixed amounts. You can set them up to go out weekly, fortnightly, four weekly, monthly, two monthly, three monthly, six monthly or annually.

To set up an automatic payment:

  • log in to internet banking and go to Pay & Transfer. Then when setting up a payment in either ‘Pay someone’, ‘Pay a bill’, or ‘Transfer’, select the frequency you want the payment to be made in section 3
  • set it up through phone banking – call 0800 11 33 55
  • download and fill out an pdfautomatic payment form (PDF 36 KB) and take it in to your local Kiwibank.

Bill payments

Pay your bills anytime, anywhere with phone or internet banking.

To set up a bill payment:

  • log in to internet banking, go to Pay & Transfer, then select ‘Pay a bill’
  • set it up through phone banking – call 0800 11 33 55.

Cheque books

You can apply for a cheque book with your Business Edge cheque account. Cheques are handy for paying some bills – but for many, phone and internet banking are even easier.

If you require a cheque book, your options are:

  • A cheque book with 100 cheques or 500 cheques with ‘not transferable’ pre–printed on each cheque.
  • A cheque book with 100 cheques or 500 cheques without ‘not transferable’ printed on them.

If your cheque is crossed ‘not transferable’ it can only be deposited into the bank account of the person you want to pay, providing you with the highest level of security.

To order a new cheque book call us on 0800 601 601, Monday to Friday, 8am – 6pm.

Payment times

Different types of payments are made at different times. Find out when money goes into and comes out of your accounts.
