The following are the fees and costs the customer pays on international services:

When the customer withdraws or transfers money from its available credit card balance. Overseas ATMs – NZ$6 per transaction. Overseas banks and financial institutions over the counter – NZ$6 per transaction. Other banks may charge an additional fee. The cash advance fee also applies to transactions in New Zealand and internet banking transfers. See credit card fees for more information. |

When the customer needs a new card or cash while overseas. NZ$52 per request. Courier costs will apply. |
| Foreign cash and traveller’s cheques commission (Kiwibank buys) | 0% commission. |

When the customer buys foreign cash from Kiwibank. 1% commission. Minimum commission NZ$7.50. |
| Foreign currency account monthly account maintenance fee |
What the customer pays to have a foreign currency account. NZ$10 equivalent per month. |
| Foreign currency cheque or draft collection fee |
When the customer deposits a foreign currency cheque or draft into its foreign currency account or NZ$ account, and the foreign currency cheque or draft is sent for collection. NZ$30 per cheque or draft. Other banks involved in processing the foreign currency cheque or draft will charge collection fees. These fees vary from bank to bank. We will pass these fees on to the customer. |

When the customer deposits a foreign currency cheque or draft into its foreign currency account. NZ$5 per cheque or draft. |
| Foreign currency cheque or draft dishonour fee |
When a foreign currency cheque or draft is dishonoured. Other banks involved in processing the foreign currency cheque or draft will charge dishonour fees. These fees may vary from bank to bank. We will pass these fees on to the customer. |
| International bank draft fee (from a foreign currency account) |
When the customer asks for an international bank draft from its foreign currency account. NZ$25 equivalent per draft. |

When the customer asks for an international bank draft from its NZ$ account. NZ$25 per draft. |
| International bank draft stop fee |
When the customer asks Kiwibank to stop an international bank draft. NZ$15 per stop. |
| Inward international money transfer fee (into a foreign currency account) |
When the customer receives an international money transfer from an overseas bank account into the customer’s foreign currency account. US$6, AU$8, UK£3, EU€5, JP¥750, as applicable, per transfer. |
| Inward international money transfer fee (into a NZ$ account) |
When the customer receives an international money transfer from an overseas bank account into the customer’s NZ$ account. NZ$12 per transfer. This fee only applies when the overseas bank sends the payment via Citibank New Zealand. If the overseas bank sends the payment via another New Zealand bank, then that bank’s fee (likely to be greater than NZ$12) will apply. Other banks involved in processing the transfer may deduct fees from the amount transferred. These fees vary from bank to bank. |
| Outward international money transfer fee – international direct credits and telegraphic transfers |
When the customer sends an international money transfer to an overseas bank account from the customer’s NZ$ account or foreign currency account. NZ$25 when done person to person at a Kiwibank branch (from NZ$ accounts only). NZ$25 (or NZ$ equivalent from foreign currency accounts) when done by fax. NZ$20 (or NZ$ equivalent from foreign currency accounts) when done by internet banking. With international direct credits, there are no fees for the recipient, i.e. what the customer sends is what the recipient gets. With telegraphic transfers, other banks involved in processing the transfer may deduct fees from the amount transferred. These fees vary from bank to bank. |
| Outward international money transfer investigation/amendment/cancellation fee |
When the customer asks for an investigation in respect of an international money transfer, or asks for the amendment or cancellation of an international money transfer. NZ$25 per investigation, amendment or cancellation. Other banks involved in the amendment or cancellation may charge fees. These fees vary from bank to bank. Kiwibank will pass these fees onto the customer. |
| Overseas ATM balance enquiry fee (ATM/EFTPOS card and Visa Debit Card transactions) |
When the customer uses an ATM/EFTPOS card or Visa Debit Card to make an ATM balance enquiry at an overseas ATM. $1 per balance enquiry. |
| Overseas ATM cash withdrawal fee (ATM/EFTPOS card and Visa Debit Card transactions) |
When the customer uses an ATM/EFTPOS card or Visa Debit Card to withdraw cash at any overseas ATM. $6 per withdrawal. |
| Overseas ATM transaction decline fee (ATM/EFTPOS card and Visa Debit Card transactions) |
When the customer uses an ATM/EFTPOS card or Visa Debit Card at any overseas ATM and the transaction is declined. $1 per declined transaction. |
| Overseas currency conversion commission (ATM/EFTPOS card and Visa Debit Card transactions) |
When the customer uses an ATM/EFTPOS card or Visa Debit Card for a foreign currency transaction. 2.5% of the New Zealand dollar amount once converted. |
| Overseas currency conversion commission (credit card transactions) |
When the customer uses the credit card for a foreign currency transaction. 2.5% of the New Zealand dollar amount once converted. |
| Transfers between foreign currency accounts and NZ$ accounts | Free. |
| Visa Debit Card transaction decline fee |
When the customer uses a Visa Debit Card for an online, phone, overseas or mail order transaction and the transaction is declined. Doesn’t apply to declined ATM and EFTPOS transactions in New Zealand. $1 per declined transaction. |
When Kiwibank converts foreign currency into New Zealand dollars or converts New Zealand dollars into foreign currency, or converts one currency into another, Kiwibank makes money on the conversion.
