Who is New Zealand's best dad?

The information-based parenting website Kiwi Families, in conjunction with Kiwibank, is running a nationwide competition to find the perfect Dad.
The Father of Year will be announced for Father's Day and the winner will be rewarded with a $5,000 Kiwibank account, $3,000 worth of power tools from STIHL SHOP™ and a $500 Prezzy Card from NZ Post. There are also a host of other prizes for the ten finalists.
Organiser of the competition, Kerry Burridge from Kiwi Families said it’s time to recognise the nation’s Dads.
Kiwibank is associated with the promotion because of its commitment to championing New Zealanders through best-value banking, branches in local communities and services for families, including of course Dads.
This is an award to recognise those most often unappreciated of people – the dedicated, hard-working Dad who forms the backbone of the family. We are looking for inspirational role models who may have triumphed over adversity, or who are just simply doing a fantastic job of raising their children.
The award is open to any Father anywhere in New Zealand. There is no preconceived idea of who the ideal Dad will be: He may be married or single, a birth or adoptive Dad, working or at home fulltime, a step or foster Father, or maybe a grandfather raising grandchildren.
"This country has hundreds of thousands of Fathers who beaver away quietly every day, working hard to raise good children and often achieving this against incredible odds. Kiwi Families wants to celebrate those people and say ‘well done!’”
This is an award of the people, for the people. Anyone can nominate a Father by visiting www.kiwifamilies.co.nz and the finalists and the winner will then be selected by the Kiwi Families Team - a group of ordinary mums and dads who understand what parenting is really like at the coal-face.
There will be prizes for the ten finalists who will win a $250 STIHL SHOP™ gift voucher for outdoor power equipment, and a $50 Prezzy Card from NZ Post. The second place winner will walk away with a lawmower and grass trimmer valued at $1,500 from STIHL SHOP™ and the third place winner will receive a hedge trimmer, grass trimmer and power cord, valued at $500 also from STIHL SHOP™.
Kiwi Families and Kiwibank believe the time is right to create a new national iconic event which focuses on Dads who are doing a great job. This is the second time Kiwibank has been involved with a Kiwi Families event. In May, they gave away $5,000 to the first place winner of Mother of the Year.
