Variable interest rate increase

Kiwibank has raised its variable and revolving home loan interest rates from 7.50 per cent per annum to 7.75 per cent. The change is effective immediately for new customers and will take effect on Monday 30 August 2004 for existing customers. The increase follows the recent rise in the Official Cash Rate set by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and general increases in the wholesale market.
