Kiwibank launches youth website
09/11/2009
Kiwibank has launched a website aimed at providing promotions and entertainment for people aged under 25.The website, called Kiwi Connector, has music and entertainment promotions, reviews, free downloads, movie previews and prizes on it.
The site has been developed with media production company, Satellite Media.
Kiwibank Acting Chief Executive Paul Brock said the website is something very different for a bank. “Bank websites generally concentrate on interest rates, mortgages, credit cards and stuff that a lot of young people probably don’t find very interesting. But the youth and young adult market is important to us and through the Kiwi Connector website, we hope to be able to provide a site that young people enjoy and for them to draw a connection between the site and the bank.”
The Kiwi Connector site, which “opened for business” today has prizes that Mr Brock described as “experiences money can’t buy”. For example, there’s a promotion for the upcoming Rhythm and Vines Festival where the winners will be flown into the site by helicopter to stay at a five-star luxury campsite.
Anyone can check out Kiwi Connector and enter the competitions, however if you’re a Kiwibank customer, you have the opportunity to further upgrade your prize.
“Kiwibank does a lot of things to connect with people at various stages of their lives such as children’s bank accounts, home loans and our recently launched Go Fly Credit Cards. This site is for people either at university or in their first jobs,” Mr Brock said.
Kiwi Connector is available from 9 November. www.kiwiconnector.co.nz
